Our Fares

All taxi passengers are now required to prepay an estimated of their fares between 10pm and 5.00am.

Outside these hours the drivers can still request a deposit up to the estimated fare or proof of payment before the hiring starts or at any time during the trip. If you do not comply, the driver can refuse to carry you. A receipt will be issue for any deposit if requested.

Multiple Hiring – is permitted with the consent of the first and subsequent hirers. Hirers must not be charged more than 75 % of the metered fare. The multiple hiring rate is not applicable to hirings for 5 or more passengers.

 

Fares

Taxi Fares are set by the Victorian Taxi Directorate and are as follows:

Standard Hiring

(For up to 4 Passengers)

     :: Flagfall    $3.20

     :: Distance  $1.617 per km 
     :: Time   $0.566 per minute (If the speed is below 21.5 kph) 
     :: Phone Booking Fee $2.00 
     :: Late Night Surcharge of 20% between midnight and 5am (Automatically calculated and dispalyed on the meter) 

 

High Occupancy

(A Single Hiring of 5 or more passengers or if a larger than standard taxi is specifically requested by the customer.)

     :: Flagfall   $3.20
     :: Distance $2.42 per km
     :: Time   $0.850 per minute (If the speed is below 21.5 kph)
     :: Phone Booking Fee $2.00 
     :: Late Night Surcharge of 20% between midninght and 5 am (Automatically calculated and displayed on the meter) 
 

City Link Tolls

    :: Southern or Western Link  $3.80 
    :: Both (One Way Trip)   $5.80 
    :: Batman Avenue   No Tolls for Taxis

Eastlink Tolls

    :: Any part south of Maroondah Highway  $2.15

    :: Melba Tunnel or Mullum Mullum Tunnel  $2.28

    :: Ringwood Bypass  No Tolls 

Payments

All Dandenong Taxis are fitted with Eftpos facilities to pay for your taxi fare. Most major credit cards are accepted for payment.

 

 

*Use of Eftpos facilities in a taxi attracts a 10% service fee payable to Cabcharge Australia.
